About EXIF Data Viewer
The EXIF Data Viewer allows you inspect and modify the hidden photo metadata inside JPEG images. It reveals camera details, ISO settings, timestamps, and GPS tags, giving you full control over the information embedded in your files.
Protect your privacy before sharing images online. Photos often contain precise location data; this tool lets you review and strip sensitive image editing history or location markers. It is also useful for correcting timezone errors in travel photography.
Upload your photo to view the full EXIF table. You can edit specific fields or use the "Remove All Metadata" feature. Save the cleaned image back to your device without re-compressing the visual data.
Under the Hood
EXIF parsing and editing relies on `piexifjs`. The tool reads the binary JPEG markers (APP1 segment) to extract the Exif, GPS, and Interop IFDs. When updating metadata (e.g., stripping GPS), the tool reconstructs the binary exif block and splices it back into the original JPEG stream, creating a bit-identical copy of the image data with new metadata headers.
